Daily Devotionals & Reflections

In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

Lord, Lead Me Into This New Season

Sometimes we hold back from asking God for what we truly want because we are afraid we are asking for too much. We think about everything we have already been through, everything we have lost, and everything that hasn't worked out, and we become hesitant to hope for something different.

But Matthew 7:7 reminds us that God tells us to ask.

As I reflected on this today, I realized that maybe I have been holding back. Maybe I have convinced myself that I shouldn't ask for certain things because I should simply be grateful for what I have. And I am grateful. But gratitude doesn't mean I have to stop bringing my desires to God.

I can ask.

I can seek.

I can knock.

But before I ask God to give me what I want, I want to ask Him to lead me. Because I don't want to chase something simply because I want it. I want what God wants for me. I want His direction over my decisions, His wisdom over my plans, and His will over my desires.

This feels like a new season for meβ€”a season of releasing procrastination, speaking up, moving forward, and allowing myself to be guided by Christ instead of allowing fear or uncertainty to hold me back.

There are things I need to ask for. There are things I need to pursue. There are things I need to release. And there are things I need to stop trying to figure out on my own.

So today, I am not holding back anymore.

I will bring my needs to God. I will bring my desires to God. I will bring my plans to God. And then I will trust Him to lead me.

Because my greatest prayer isn't simply, β€œGod, give me what I want.”

It is, β€œGod, lead me to what You want for me.”

My job is to ask, seek, knock, and remain willing to follow wherever He leads.

Matthew 7:7 NIV

β€œAsk, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

What have I been holding back from asking God for?

Am I asking God for what I want while still allowing Him to redirect me?

What do I need to release so I can fully step into this new season?

Where is God asking me to stop procrastinating, speak up, or move forward?

Take a moment today to declare:
β€œLord, I will not hold back anymore. I will ask, I will seek, and I will knock, but above all, I will allow You to lead me. I release my fear, my hesitation, and my procrastination. Guide my decisions, my words, my relationships, my work, and every area of my life. I don't want to move ahead of You or behind You. I want to walk with You. This is a new season, and I am ready to follow where You lead.”

Reflection

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Father, thank You for reminding me that I can come to You with everything that is on my heart. Forgive me for the times I have held back because of fear, doubt, or uncertainty. Help me to ask without fear, seek You with intention, and knock with faith. As I enter this new season, guide every step I take. Help me release what needs to be released, speak when I need to speak, and move when You tell me to move. Let Christ lead me in every area of my life. I trust You with what is ahead.
In Jesus' name,

Amen.
