Daily Devotionals & Reflections
In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

Only You Know, Lord
There are some things about us that only God truly knows.
People may see our smile, but God knows what is happening behind it. People may hear our words, but God knows the thoughts we never say out loud. People may see what we do, but God knows the heart behind it.
Only You know, Lord.
You know the battles I don't talk about. You know the prayers I struggle to put into words. You know the reasons behind my decisions, the things I regret, the things I am still trying to understand, and the places in my heart that still need healing.
And sometimes that is comforting because God knows the whole story when other people only know a chapter.
We can spend so much energy trying to explain ourselves to people who may never fully understand. We can worry about being misunderstood, judged, or defined by one moment when God sees everything—the circumstances, the heart, the intentions, and the journey.
God doesn't need an explanation from us because He already knows.
That doesn't mean we never need to take responsibility. If we have done wrong, we should humble ourselves, repent, and make things right. But we don't have to live our lives desperately trying to prove our hearts to everyone.
God knows.
He knows when we are genuinely trying. He knows when we are hurting. He knows when we are struggling to make the right choice. He knows when we have forgiven even when it was difficult. He knows the things we have surrendered privately that nobody else witnessed.
So today, rest in this simple truth: God knows you completely, and He still loves you completely.
You may not be understood by everyone, but you are fully known by God.
And sometimes, that is enough.
Psalm 44:21 NIV
“For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.”
What is something only God truly knows about what I am carrying?
Am I spending too much energy trying to make people understand me?
Can I trust God with the things I cannot explain to anyone else?
What would it feel like to simply rest in knowing that God already knows?
Take a moment today to declare:
“Lord, You know me completely. You know my heart, my intentions, my struggles, my fears, and the things I cannot put into words. I don't need to prove myself to everyone when You already know the truth. Search my heart, correct me where I am wrong, strengthen me where I am weak, and give me peace where I am misunderstood. Breathe in Your peace. Breathe out my need to explain everything. Only You know, Lord—and I trust You.”
Reflection
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Father, You know every part of me. You know what I carry, what I have been through, what I am trying to overcome, and what my heart truly desires. Thank You that I never have to hide from You or pretend to be something I am not. Help me trust You with the things I cannot explain and the things others may never understand. Keep my heart humble, my motives pure, and my eyes fixed on You.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
