THE COVENANT
Daily Devotionals & Reflections
In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.β

I Do Not Claim To Be Perfect
I don't claim to be perfect. I make mistakes. I have moments when I get it wrong, moments when my emotions get the better of me, and moments when I wish I had handled something differently. But my goal isn't to appear perfect. My goal is to live for God.
Being a Christian doesn't mean never falling short. It means having a heart that keeps turning back toward God when we do.
There is something freeing about being able to say, βLord, I am still learning. I am still growing. I don't have it all together, but I want You.β
God isn't looking for people who have perfected themselves. He is looking for hearts that are willing to surrender, willing to learn, willing to repent, and willing to keep walking with Him.
Sometimes we can become so concerned with how other people see us that we forget whose approval matters most. We don't have to convince everyone that we're good enough. We don't have to defend every mistake or pretend we never struggle.
We simply need to keep our hearts humble before God.
A humble servant doesn't say, βLook how perfect I am.β A humble servant says, βLord, keep changing me.β
There will always be areas where we need to grow. There will always be lessons God is teaching us. There will always be moments when we need His grace.
And that's okay.
Because our relationship with God isn't built on our perfection. It is built on His grace.
So today, don't focus on being perfect. Focus on being willing. Willing to listen. Willing to obey. Willing to apologize. Willing to forgive. Willing to grow. Willing to serve. Willing to keep choosing God, even when you don't get everything right.
You don't have to be perfect to be used by God.
Just be available.
Ephesians 2:8 NIV
βFor by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.β
Am I putting pressure on myself to appear perfect?
Am I allowing God's grace to cover the areas where I fall short?
Is my heart genuinely willing to learn and grow with God?
What is one area where God is asking me to become more like Him?
Take a moment today to declare:
βI don't claim to be perfect, and I don't have to be. I am a humble servant of God, still learning, still growing, and still being shaped by His grace. When I fall, I will get back up. When I am wrong, I will humble myself. When God corrects me, I will listen. My desire is not to impress people; my desire is to live for God. Lord, keep my heart humble and my eyes fixed on You.β
Reflection
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Father, thank You for Your grace. Thank You that You don't require perfection from me before You can use me. Help me remain humble and teachable. When I make mistakes, give me the courage to acknowledge them and the wisdom to learn from them. Keep changing my heart, shaping my character, and drawing me closer to You. Let my life reflect a genuine desire to serve You, not a desire to appear perfect before others.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
