In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

Trusting God Beyond What I Can See

There are moments when what we see seems to tell us one story, while God is working on a completely different one.

We see a closed door and think, “It’s over.” We see a delay and think, “God has forgotten me.” We see someone's actions and assume we understand their heart. We look at circumstances and immediately decide what they mean.

But it’s not always what it seems.

What we see is limited. God sees what we cannot see—the things happening behind the scenes, the hearts of people, the timing of events, and the purpose that may not become clear until much later.

That is why faith is so important. Faith doesn't mean pretending that something looks good when it doesn't. It means refusing to believe that what we see is the whole story.

Think about Joseph. His brothers selling him into slavery looked like the end of his future. Being falsely accused and imprisoned looked like another setback. But God was working through every part of the journey, eventually placing Joseph in a position where he could save many lives.

What looked like destruction was becoming preparation.

Sometimes we judge a chapter before God has finished writing the story.

Maybe something in your life doesn't make sense right now. Maybe you're looking at a situation and thinking, “How could this possibly work out?” You don't have to know how.

God doesn't ask you to see everything. He asks you to trust Him with what you cannot see.

So before you react to what something looks like, pause and pray. Before you assume the worst, remember that God is still working. Before you decide that the story is over, remember that you haven't seen the final page.

It may not be what it seems.

2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

What situation am I interpreting only by what I can see?

Have I mistaken a delay or disappointment for God's denial?

Where is God asking me to trust Him instead of my perception?

Can I leave room for God to reveal what I cannot see yet?

Take a moment today to declare:
“Lord, I will not allow what I see to determine what I believe. When I don't understand, I will trust You. When things look impossible, I will remember that You see what I cannot see. I will not rush to conclusions or allow fear to write the ending. Breathe in Your peace. Breathe out my need to understand everything. God is working, even when I cannot see it.”

Reflection

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Father, help me remember that what I see is never the whole picture. Give me patience when circumstances don't make sense and faith when I cannot see what You are doing. Keep me from making assumptions based only on what appears before me. Help me trust Your wisdom, Your timing, and Your plan. When I cannot see the way forward, remind me that You can.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
