In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

You’re Tired Because You’re Operating in Your Own Strength

Sometimes the reason you are so tired isn’t because you are doing too much—it’s because you are trying to do too much without allowing God to carry what was never meant for you to carry alone.

We can become so accustomed to figuring everything out, fixing everything, making every decision, anticipating every problem, and trying to hold everything together that we forget something important: God never asked us to live by our own strength.

There is a difference between being tired from working hard and being weary from trying to be your own source of strength. You can be physically exhausted, emotionally drained, mentally overwhelmed, and spiritually empty because you have been carrying burdens that belong at the feet of God.

God says He gives power to the faint. That means He already knows there will be moments when you have nothing left. He doesn't condemn you for being tired. He meets you there.

Maybe today you need to stop saying, “I can handle this,” and start saying, “Lord, I need You to handle this with me.”Stop trying to control every outcome. Stop carrying tomorrow before tomorrow arrives. Stop believing everything depends on you.

You were never designed to be your own provider, protector, problem-solver, and source of peace. God is your strength.

Sometimes rest isn't simply going to bed. Sometimes rest is surrender. It is releasing the need to know how everything will work out and trusting the One who already knows.

So if you are tired today, don't just ask God to give you enough strength to keep carrying everything. Ask Him to show you what you need to put down.

Isaiah 40:29 NIV

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

What am I carrying right now that I haven't truly surrendered to God?

Where have I been relying on my own strength instead of God's?

What would it look like for me to trust God with this situation today?

What do I need to release so that God can renew me?

Take a moment today to declare:
“Lord, I don't have to do everything in my own strength. I release what I cannot control. I give You my burdens, my worries, my plans, and my fears. Breathe in Your strength. Breathe out my need to carry everything myself. I trust You to sustain me, lead me, and give me the strength I need for today. I will not carry tomorrow's burdens today. God is my strength.”

Reflection

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Father, I am tired, and I acknowledge that I cannot do everything in my own strength. Forgive me for the times I have tried to carry what I should have surrendered to You. Help me to release my burdens and trust You completely. Give me strength where I am weak, peace where I am anxious, and wisdom where I don't know what to do. Teach me to rest in You and remember that I was never meant to carry life alone.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
