In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

God Is My Plan A,B,C,D and E

There is something freeing about knowing that I don't have to have every plan figured out. I can make plans, prepare, work hard, and do my part, but ultimately, my trust cannot be in my plans. My trust has to be in God.

Sometimes we make a Plan A, then a Plan B just in case A doesn't work. Then Plan C, D, and E because we want to make sure we have something to fall back on. But what if God is asking us to stop depending so heavily on our backup plans and start depending more completely on Him?

God is not just my Plan A when everything is going well. He is my Plan B when something doesn't work out. He is my Plan C when the door I expected to open closes. He is my Plan D when I don't understand what is happening. And He is my Plan E when I have run out of every other option.

Actually, God isn't really a backup plan at all. He is the plan.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't prepare or make wise decisions. God gave us wisdom and expects us to use it. But there is a difference between making plans while trusting God and making plans because we don't trust God to take care of us.

Sometimes God will allow our plans to change because He sees something we cannot see. A closed door may feel like disappointment, but it may actually be protection. A delay may feel like rejection, but it may be preparation. Something not working out may simply mean God has something different in mind.

So today, I don't need to panic when my plans don't work. I don't need to scramble to figure everything out. I can pause and say, β€œLord, what is Your plan?”

Because if God is directing my steps, then even when I don't know the destination, I can trust the One leading me there.

Proverbs 16:9 NIV

β€œA man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”

Am I trusting God with my plans, or am I relying on myself to make everything work?

How do I respond when my plans don't go the way I expected?

Is there something I need to surrender and allow God to redirect?

Can I trust God even when I don't have a backup plan?

Take a moment today to declare:
β€œGod, You are my Plan A, B, C, D and E. When my plans work, I will thank You. When they don't, I will still trust You. Breathe in Your peace. Breathe out my need to control everything. Breathe in Your direction. Breathe out my fear of the unknown. I don't need to have every answer because I have You. Direct my steps, Lord, and wherever You lead me, I will trust You.”

Reflection

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Lord, I surrender my plans to You. I don't want to spend my life trying to control every outcome or creating endless backup plans because I am afraid something won't work out. Give me wisdom to plan, but give me even greater faith to trust You. When You redirect me, help me recognize Your hand. When You close a door, help me trust that You know why. When I don't know what comes next, remind me that You do. You are not my backup plan. You are my source, my guide, and the One I choose to trust in every situation.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
