THE COVENANT
Daily Devotionals & Reflections
In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

If It Were All Gone
There’s a thought I sometimes wrestle with that honestly makes me tremble a little inside.
What would I be if everything I have in this world was suddenly gone?
My home.
My belongings.
The comforts I’ve grown used to.
Everything that feels familiar and secure.
Even writing those words brings a quiet fear. If I’m honest, the thought is so unsettling that I feel it in my chest as I write. But in the same breath, something else happens — I pause, I breathe slowly, and I remind myself of a deeper truth.
God is my everything.
Everything I have today is a blessing. It’s something entrusted to me for this season of my life. But none of it is the foundation of who I am.
The foundation is Him.
Job understood this in a way few of us ever want to experience. After losing everything, he still spoke words that reveal a heart anchored in God. Not because the loss wasn’t painful, but because his identity was rooted deeper than what he possessed.
And that is the question this reflection gently brings me to: Who am I when everything external is stripped away?
Would my faith remain?
Would my character still reflect Him?
Would my peace still be anchored in God?
The truth is, our possessions can support our lives, but they cannot sustain our souls.
Only God can do that.
When I let that truth settle in my heart, the fear softens. Not because the idea of loss becomes easy, but because I remember that what matters most can never be taken away.
His presence.
His love.
His faithfulness.
Today I hold my blessings with gratitude, but I also hold them loosely — remembering that the greatest treasure in my life is not what I own, but the God who walks with me.
And when I breathe slowly and remember that truth, my heart steadies again.
God is my everything.
Job 1:21 NIV
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
What things in your life have quietly become sources of security?
If they were gone, where would your identity rest?
How can remembering that God is your everything bring peace to your heart today?
As you breathe in, whisper: “You are enough.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “You are my everything.”

Closing Prayer
Lord,
Everything I have ultimately comes from You.
Help me hold my blessings with gratitude and humility, remembering they are gifts for a season.
When fear tries to take hold, remind me that my true security is found in You alone.
Today I breathe deeply and remember that You are my everything.
Amen.
