A Heart Of Thanksgiving
Gratitude is easy when life is going well.
When prayers are answered.
When things are falling into place.
When joy feels natural.
But Scripture calls us to something deeper — to give thanks in all circumstances, not just the good ones.
That means even in the moments we don’t fully understand.
Even in the seasons that feel slow, uncertain, or challenging.
Gratitude in those moments is not about pretending everything is perfect. It’s about recognizing that God is still present, still faithful, and still working, even when life doesn’t look the way we expected.
A heart of thanksgiving shifts our focus.
Instead of dwelling only on what is missing, we begin to see what is already present.
Instead of being overwhelmed by what isn’t working, we remember what God has already done.
Sometimes gratitude is found in the big things.
But often, it’s in the small, quiet reminders:
A moment of peace.
Strength to get through the day.
A reminder that we are not alone.
Thanksgiving is not just a feeling — it’s a choice.
A choice to trust that God is good.
A choice to recognize His hand in our lives.
A choice to give thanks, even before we see the full picture.
And as we do, something begins to change within us.
Our hearts soften.
Our perspective shifts.
And peace begins to take root.
Because gratitude reminds us that no matter the season, God is worthy of thanks.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
What is one thing you can thank God for today, even in the middle of your current season?
How might choosing gratitude shift your perspective?
Where have you seen God’s faithfulness recently, even in small ways?
As you breathe in, whisper: “Thank You, Lord.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “In all things.”

Closing Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for Your constant presence in my life. Even in the moments I don’t fully understand, help me trust that You are working.
Teach me to have a heart of gratitude in every season. Open my eyes to see Your goodness, even in the small things.
May my heart always remember to give thanks, because You are always faithful.
Amen.
