Keep Your Eyes On God!

Life has a way of competing for our attention.

There are distractions, disappointments, fears, and uncertainties that constantly try to pull our focus away from God. If we're not careful, we can become so consumed by our circumstances that we lose sight of the One who is leading us through them.

The writer of Hebrews encourages us to run our race by fixing our eyes on Jesus.

When Peter walked on water, he did the impossible while his eyes were on Christ. But when he focused on the wind and waves around him, fear took over and he began to sink.

The same principle applies to us today.

When we focus only on our problems, they often seem bigger than they really are.

When we focus on God, we are reminded that He is greater than every challenge we face.

Keeping our eyes on God does not mean pretending difficulties don't exist.

It means choosing to trust His power more than we trust our fears.

It means remembering His promises when circumstances suggest otherwise.

It means believing that the One who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it.

Today, whatever is demanding your attention, bring your focus back to God.

Look to His Word.

Look to His faithfulness.

Look to His presence.

The path may not always be easy, but it becomes much clearer when our eyes are fixed on Him.

“What I focus on grows. Today, I choose to focus on God.”

Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”

What has been distracting me from focusing on God?

Am I spending more time looking at my circumstances or at God's promises?

How can I intentionally fix my eyes on Jesus today?

As you breathe in, whisper: “My eyes are on You.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “I trust Your leading.”

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Help me keep my eyes fixed on You. When distractions, fears, and challenges compete for my attention, remind me that You are greater than them all.

Strengthen my faith to trust You even when I cannot see the whole path ahead. Teach me to focus on Your promises, rely on Your presence, and follow Your guidance each day.

Thank You for being my constant source of hope, strength, and direction.

Amen.
