In the Midst of the Storm, I Find Rest
Storms are an unavoidable part of life.
Some storms arrive suddenly through unexpected news, difficult circumstances, or challenges we never saw coming. Others linger for weeks, months, or even years, testing our patience, our faith, and our strength.
Our natural response is often to focus on the wind and the waves.
We analyze the problem.
We worry about the outcome.
We search for a way to regain control.
But the disciples learned an important lesson in the middle of their storm: Jesus was in the boat with them.
The presence of the storm did not mean the absence of God.
In fact, He was closer than they realized.
The same is true for us.
Peace is not found in a life free from trouble.
Peace is found in the presence of Christ within the trouble.
Sometimes God calms the storm around us.
Sometimes He calms the storm within us.
Either way, His presence is enough.
When the winds of life begin to blow and uncertainty surrounds you, remember that your rest is not found in perfect circumstances.
Your rest is found in the One who speaks peace over every storm.
Today, instead of focusing on the size of the waves, focus on the One who rules over them.
Because even in the midst of the storm, you can find rest.
“My peace is not determined by my circumstances; it is anchored in the presence of Christ.”

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”
What storm am I currently facing?
Am I focusing more on the waves or on the One who is with me in the boat?
How can I intentionally rest in God's presence today?
As you breathe in, whisper: “Jesus, You are with me.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “In You, I find rest.”

Closing Prayer
Lord,
Thank You that I never face life's storms alone. When fear, uncertainty, and worry try to overwhelm me, remind me that You are with me.
Help me to trust Your presence more than my circumstances. Fill my heart with Your peace and teach me to rest in You, even when the winds are still blowing.
Thank You for being my refuge, my strength, and my calm in every storm.
