In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

Yahweh — The God Who Is, and Our Response
“I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
Yesterday, we called on the many names of God. Today, I want us to linger on one — Yahweh.
Yahweh is not just a name; it is a revelation.
When God revealed Himself to Moses as “I AM,” He was saying something profound:
I am not limited by time.
I am not defined by circumstances.
I am not becoming — I simply am.
Yahweh means God is self-existent, eternal, and unchanging. He does not depend on what we see or feel. He does not fluctuate with seasons, success, or struggle. He is the same God in the wilderness as He is in the promised land.
And that matters deeply to us.
Because when life feels uncertain, Yahweh remains steady.
When answers feel delayed, Yahweh is still present.
When our strength runs low, Yahweh does not diminish.
Scripture reminds us:
— Psalm 103:8 (NIV)
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.”
Yahweh is not distant or detached. He is personal. Relational. Faithful to His people. He is the God who was, is, and is to come — and He chooses to walk with us.
So what is our part?
If God is Yahweh — the great I AM — then our role is not to strive to hold everything together. Our role is to trust, to obey, and to remain close. We are invited to live in alignment with who He already is.
We respond to Yahweh by:
trusting Him when we don’t understand,
honoring Him with obedience,
walking humbly instead of relying on our own strength,
and remembering that He does not change — even when everything else does.
— Psalm 145:13 (NIV)
“The Lord will keep his promises to you.”
Calling on the name Yahweh reminds us that God does not need to be convinced to be faithful — He already is. Our part is simply to believe, to follow, and to live from that truth.
Today, let us speak His name slowly. Let it steady us. Let it remind us that we are held by the eternal God who is present in every moment.
He is Yahweh.
The God who is.
The God who remains.
The God who walks with us.
Exodus 3:14 NIV
Reflection
What does it mean to you that God is Yahweh — unchanging and present?
Where do you need to trust His “I AM” instead of your own effort?
How can you live today in response to who He already is?
As you breathe in, whisper: “You are Yahweh.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “I trust You.”
Closing Prayer
Yahweh, You are the great I AM — faithful, present, and unchanging.
Thank You for revealing Yourself to us and inviting us into relationship with You.
Help me trust You when I cannot see the way forward.
Teach me to walk in obedience and humility, knowing that You remain the same.
Let my life reflect faith in who You are, not fear of what I cannot control.
Today, I choose to rest in You —
the God who was, who is, and who is to come.
Amen.
