In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

Activating My Faith

“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

This has been on my heart since the end of last year.

I remember a conversation with my older brother — one that stayed with me long after it ended. He shared how he reached a point where he stopped waiting and started activating his faith. Not just believing God could move. Not just praying and hoping. But actually moving when God prompted him to move.

And he told me how speedily God came through for him once he did.

That conversation challenged me deeply.

It forced me to look honestly at my own faith — not at whether I believed God was able, but at whether I was willing to respond when He invited me to act. I realized there were prayers I had been praying while still standing still. Promises I believed in theory, but hadn’t fully stepped into with obedience.

So I decided to do the same.

And I can say this with a grateful heart — all glory to God — He opened a door that my family and I had been waiting on. A door that felt stuck. Delayed. Out of reach. And it didn’t open because I suddenly became bold or confident. It opened because faith moved from agreement to action.

Faith without works isn’t harsh or condemning — it’s simply inactive.

It believes, but it doesn’t step.

It hopes, but it doesn’t obey.

It waits for certainty instead of trusting God in motion.

And here’s my honest confession: I’m still working on me.

I’m learning not to label myself, but I do struggle with procrastination. I can delay when God nudges me forward. I can overthink when He’s already made the direction clear. So I’ve had to become truly aware and intentional — choosing obedience even when I don’t feel ready.

With God as my guide, I keep pushing and like my dad always says "in God we trust".

Activating faith doesn’t mean rushing blindly or striving in our own strength. It means responding with trust. It means gathering the daily bread God provides and actually walking with it. It means understanding that God often meets us after we take the step — not before.

Faith lives in movement.

— James 1:22 (NIV)

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

— Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

So if you’ve been waiting…

If you’ve been praying but hesitating…

If you’ve been believing but delaying…

This is your invitation.

Let’s get up.

Let’s get going.

Let’s activate our faith.

Because God is faithful — and He responds when we move toward Him in trust.

James 2:17

Reflection

Where might God be inviting you to activate your faith?

What step have you been delaying out of fear, comfort, or uncertainty?

What would obedience look like today — practically and honestly?

As you breathe in, whisper: “I trust You.”

As you breathe out, whisper: “I will move.”

Closing Prayer

God, thank You for reminding me that faith is meant to be lived, not just believed.

Thank You for meeting me when I chose to move — even imperfectly.

You know where I hesitate, delay, or overthink.

Help me stay aware, intentional, and obedient to Your leading.

Teach me to recognize when waiting has become avoidance, and courage is required.

With You as my guide, I choose to keep pushing forward.

I trust You with every step — seen and unseen.

Amen.
