Jehovah Magen — The Lord My Shield

There are moments when I feel exposed.

Moments when I don’t know what’s coming next. When words, situations, or uncertainties hit harder than I expected. When I wish I could protect my peace, my heart, and the people I love from everything that feels heavy.

This is where the name Jehovah Magen meets me — The Lord my Shield.

A shield doesn’t remove the battle.
It protects you within it.

God never promised that life would be free of challenges. But He did promise that we would never face them uncovered. Jehovah Magen surrounds me — not just in obvious danger, but in quiet, unseen ways.

He shields my heart when disappointment comes.
He shields my mind when fear tries to take hold.
He shields my spirit when I feel weak.

Sometimes I don’t even realize what God has protected me from. Doors that didn’t open. Situations that didn’t unfold. Paths that quietly closed. What once felt like denial was often protection.

God stands between me and what I cannot see.

Today, I want to trust Jehovah Magen — not trying to anticipate every outcome, but resting in the truth that God is covering me.

Psalm 3:3 NIV

“But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.”

Jehovah Magen, my Shield,
Thank You for protecting me in ways I see and ways I don’t.
Help me trust Your covering when I feel uncertain.
