Keep Walking Forward

After something powerful, there can be a pull to look back.

Back at what didn’t work.
Back at what hurt.
Back at who you used to be.

Even after Easter… even after renewal…
there’s still a temptation to revisit old places in your mind.

But God is clear:

Don’t dwell there.

Not because your past doesn’t matter—
but because it’s not where He’s working anymore.

He’s doing something new.

Not just in big, visible ways…
but in small shifts.

In your thinking.
In your responses.
In the way you’re starting to handle things differently.

It may not feel dramatic.
It may not feel instant.

But it’s happening.

The challenge is—will you recognize it?
Or will you stay focused on what used to be?

You can’t fully step into what God is doing now
if your attention is always behind you.

So today, make a decision:

Not to ignore your past…
but not to live in it either.

Lift your eyes.
Notice the new.
Move with what God is doing now.

And remind yourself:

“I’m not going back—I’m moving forward.”

Because what’s ahead of you
is not a repeat of what’s behind you.

Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

What have I been dwelling on that God is asking me to release?

Where can I see signs of something new in my life?

Am I willing to move forward, even if it feels unfamiliar?

As you breathe in, whisper: “You are doing something new.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “I will move forward.”

Closing Prayer

Lord,

Help me to release what is behind me so I can fully step into what You are doing now.

Open my eyes to see the new things You are bringing into my life, even in small ways. Give me the courage to move forward and not stay stuck in what was.

Lead me into what’s next.

Amen.
