THE COVENANT
Daily Devotionals & Reflections
In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”

A Shift In Perspective
It’s easy to get caught up in what we’re going through.
The daily frustrations.
The stress.
The things that didn’t go how we planned.
And without even realizing it, complaining can become our default response.
Not always out loud… but in our thoughts.
In our attitude.
In the way we carry the day.
But sometimes, we need to pause and shift our perspective.
Because while we’re focused on what’s uncomfortable,
we can forget what’s already been done for us.
The sacrifice of Jesus wasn’t small.
It wasn’t convenient.
It wasn’t easy.
And yet—it was done out of love.
A love that chose us.
A love that covered us.
A love that gave everything so we could have life, hope, and access to God.
When we remember that, something changes.
Our complaints begin to soften.
Our perspective begins to widen.
Our hearts begin to realign.
It doesn’t mean what you’re going through isn’t real.
It doesn’t mean your struggles don’t matter.
But it reminds you that your story is held within something greater.
So today, when you feel the urge to complain…
Pause.
Take a breath.
And remember.
Not just what you’re going through—
but what has already been done for you.
And let gratitude rise, even in the middle of it.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
What have I been focusing on more—my frustrations or God’s faithfulness?
How often do I pause to remember what Jesus has done for me?
What is one thing I can thank God for today, even in the middle of my situation?
As you breathe in, whisper: “Thank You, Lord.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “I remember.”
Reflection
Closing Prayer
Lord,
Forgive me for the times I become so focused on my struggles that I forget Your sacrifice.
Help me to shift my perspective and remember the depth of Your love. Teach me to carry gratitude in my heart, even when things aren’t easy.
Thank You for all that You have done for me.
Amen.
